In January of 2014, Durham construction Company, Inc. broke ground on new a 43,288 square -foot three story high-rise building in downtown Fresno that would serve as the new headquarters for First Five Fresno County.  The building has a concrete foundation with structural steel frame with exterior lath and plaster.  The front entrance boasts an extensive aluminum-framed glazing system that rises from floor to roof line which enhances the stairway and conference room with an abundance of natural light.  The elements of the building that provide inspiration to children include a play yard in the rear, an array of bold colors throughout the building, including colored glass windows, residential type-kitchens and work areas, all interspersed in with support offices for First Five Fresno County staff.
